Hilliard is a large suburb of Columbus, Ohio, and part of Norwich Township. Set between Big Darby Creek and the Scioto River, the town originally grew around the railroad route of the Piqua and Indiana Railroad station and was called Hilliard’s Station. In the 1880’s, Hilliard’s Station served as a shipping point for supplies coming in for the local farmers, as well as agricultural products being shipped out to market.
Today, this large and thriving suburb boasts sprawling neighborhoods dotted with beautiful single-family homes. New businesses continue to move into the community, adding to the vibrancy and continued growth of this city. Hilliard’s school district is rated among the best in the state of Ohio. The community hosts numerous events for the locals, and offers a number of parks, paths and trails. Hilliard is home to the Franklin County Fairgrounds and Historical Village. In 2012, Hilliard was voted one of Ohio’s “Best Hometowns” by Ohio Magazine, based on health and safety, education, community spirit, heritage and culture, business environment, and entertainment.
